Proceeding from right to left, Pharaoh sits beside the walls of Egypt and proclaims that all Israelite male babies be thrown into the Nile. In the center, Moses` mother, Jochebed, places his basket in the Nile. At the left, Pharaoh’s daughter, standing naked in the Nile, holds Moses, and then he is given into the care of Jochebed and Miriam.
